Merlot facial mask, Sauvignon massage, Cabernet exfoliation… Leave it to the French to discover that the nectar of the gods
May also be yet another fountain of youth. Wine therapy uses grape derivatives as the basis for a number of beauty products and treatments.
Good news not only for those seeking eternal youth, but especially for the beauty industry, which is constantly on the lookout for new trends.

Pharmacologist Joseph Vercauteron of the University of Bordeaux discovered that grapes contain the most potent anti-oxidants present in nature:
Polyphenol. According to Dr. Vercauteron's research, polyphenol forms a protective layer on skin, and stimulates the renewal of
Cells and collagen (abundant in young skin). Beauty experts now use massage oil and facial masks made of pressed
Grape seed oil and "muds" made of fresh wine must and must extract as well as honey and pressed grapes exfoliations.
These products  reduce visible wrinkles, refresh, tone and relax skin, stimulate circulation, eliminate bloating,
Increase skin elasticity, strengthen capillaries, and even reduce leg circumference.
Most importantly the effects of wine therapy are supposedly long lasting.

Wine therapy was first commercialized in France in 1990, but soon made its way to the US and is becoming quite popular across Europe.
It has had particular success in Italy where beauty spas and their clients have embraced the trend wholeheartedly.

Of course, the origins of wine therapy date back to Roman times. Apparently Queen Cleopatra loved receiving wine must and
Alabaster massages, and the great Latin poet Ovid even wrote an ode to women lathered in the succulent juices to maintain their beauty
